Concentrating on the important things...

I scanned this as a PDF instead of a JPEG, so you'll have to click through to read it, but here's the thank-you that Colin wrote to our babysitter who gave him a nerf sword for Christmas (she had spotted it on his list... how sweet is that??). Always good to have tools to keep your sister at bay.

In search of that arch-villain, DIAPER MAN!

Colin has weekly homework where he has to write a short-story incorporating vocabulary words. This week's words include glisten, eroding, and weary. NOT DIAPER MAN IN HIS LAIR!

Video Game Blues

He may be concerned about "Santa's" ability to follow instructions...

So you think you can dance?

Holly Molly, I love how Colin spells. And by "spells" I mean "misspells everything in an awesome fashion."

Loosely based on current events...

The idea for today's strip was inspired by Melanie singing non-stop in the car today... Colin and I are both in agreement that she would be much more lovable if she came equipped with a "mute" button!

Well, that's how it sounds!

Even homework can be entertaining when you've got the Fourth Grade Blues. (New strip coming up as soon as his agent gets it scanned!)

Now that's a long coma

Some day Colin's therapist will look through these strips and have *fabulous* fodder with which to analyze the early origins of all of his, um, personality quirks. Not sure what else to say here... :)

Watch out for that Biscuit with Wings...

The kids were out of school yesterday, so we had a lovely visit to the Martin Luther King National Historic Site in Atlanta, and then had a late lunch at The Flying Biscuit in Decatur. The idea for today's column was hatched during that lunch.

Where's my free buffay?

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be stuck on a water slide that lasted for 24 hours, and you couldn't get off, but at least you knew you'd get a great meal at the end?

He's in the jailhouse now

Ok, so apparently grown-up life events can sometimes happen to a 4th grader. I will be really sad when this spelling of "bad guy" goes away, and the "running away" clouds also are a hoot.

Reading Stack vs. Lucky Jack

You might need to click on the picture to enlarge it, and to see the titles of the books that were assigned for homework...

a little homework interlude

Part of what got Colin interested in drawing funny comics is his homework at school, which has often included an option to draw a picture to illustrate his vocabulary words. The bottom illustration on tonight's homework (with the "bad gie" -- get it? bad guy -- and the superhero) is a good example.

Karate with a Pre-K Kid

Colin's new blog

Hi everyone -- Janet here. Colin has decided to start a comic strip, and we thought it would be fun to have a blog. I'm going to get it started for him, but later I'll have him dictate to me or even write his own posts. Colin has loved drawing little funny stories and cartoons for a while, and they usually make us laugh. We hope you enjoy as well!
